Abstract The present study deals with the geological studies of the Quaternary deposits in El Tineh Plain and its vicinities in north Sinai for future development. To achieve this purpose the existing lanforms ; the mineral and facies characteristics of the Quaternary sediments and their provenance and depositional environments were carefully studied as main controlling factors on the soil and water resources in the area. from the geomorphological studies and the field observations, the area of study and northwest Sinai area are an emergence coast related to sea regression as indicated by : - The presence of old shorelines, - The presence of archeological finding representing different ages, - The presence of coastal ridges, - The presence of coastal lagoons and - The presence of four pavements on the recent shoreline. |
