Factors affecting the small seeds separating process as: type of mention, sieve slope, and stroke length were investigated experimentally using a mixture of radish and garden rocket seeds. Factors affecting flax seeds and chaff separation, were also investigated experimentally. A devolved apparatus for separation was constructed for this study, it was found that , the effectiveness of separation is significantly dependent on each of sieving speed and sieve slope, it was also found that the effectiveness is significantly depended on sieve stroke length but not for all kinds of motion. Effective ness of separation was calculated from weighed values of seed, sieve slope, and stroke length . the percentage of seed loss was calculated in all cases. The results were statistically analyzed according to factorial experiment design. |
