Abstract In this thesis the Green’s function approach, which was formulated by Case, is used to obtain the solution of the transport equation for plane geometry in the slowing down region, using Goertzel-Greuling(G-G)approximation(75)for the scattering Kernel. The result is used to obtain the reflection and transmission coefficients for slab geometry. Also the reflection and transmission functions for slabs are obtained by the reduction of the finite medium to the problem for half-space by adding a source free semi-infinite medium. |
