Abstract
The elastic scattering differential cross section and the vector polarization of spin-l heavy-ions are analysed through the strong absorption model. The present study is done, considering Frahn’s and Venter’s parameterized scattering matrices, S1(+)S1(o) and S1(-) with nine parameters in the following ways. The direct summation method, in which the five scattering amplitudes given by Buck are reduced to two only by considering the assumption that (21+l)S1(o)+1S1(+)(1+l)S1(-) which is valid under the strong absorption condition.
