Abstract The present work is concerned with the effects of low energy ion beam on some physical properties of polyvenyl alcohole (PVA), polyethylene (PE) and polystyrene (PS). The DC electrical properties of the first two materials have been studied before and after oxygen and/or argon positive ions exposure. For the electrical study, films have been prepared by casting technique using proper solvents. On the other hand, the mechanical properties( creep behaviour) of PE and PS were investigated. Samples for mechanical study have been prepared by compression method, While PE is in the form of strips, PS is in the form of fibres. |
