Abstract
The aim of this study is measuring some of basic dosimetric data of total body irradiation (TBI) prior to bone marrow transplantation (BMT). This study started in Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Mansoura university hospital, at 1995. We selected an extended source to axis distance technique, to use in our department. The basic dosimetric data of total body irradiation are measured in a water equivalent (prespex) phantom for 6 and10 MV x-ray photon beams produced by Philips SL-15 linear accelerator. Markus ionization chamber connected with PTW unidose electrometer is used in measurements.
