Abstract

The purpose of this work is the creation of a multi-criteria optimal design of orthotropic steel bridge structures carriageway road bridges on the basis of model development and validation of computational models for the universal complexes of FEM and using the method of multi-criteria optimization, creation of algorithms and corresponding software system of automated multi-criteria optimal design, including both well-known software products, as well as their own algorithms and programs. The methods and programs to be used for the analysis of the design decisions of existing structures of the bridge across the Suez Canal in Egypt to further their use in designing new constructions. Now in a road bridge building wide application was discovered by metal spans structures with orthotropic slabs in constructions of a carriageway of the bridge. Creating modern cable stayed and suspension bridges, knocking imagination by huge magnitudes of bays, originality and progressiveness of solutions, would be impossible without use light steel orthotropic constructions of a carriageway. Moreover, world practice of a bridge building puts forward today necessity of use of more light constructions.In modern bridges are applied not only simple open orthotropic plates, but also the orthotropic closed constructions, especially in bridges with major widths. Calculation of the complicated weighted orthotropic constructions for all types of loads is impossible now without use of numerical methods of the strength assaying, in particular, a finite-element method (FEM).Using multi-disciplinary program complex finite element method allows to solve complex problems of calculation of spatial structures, not only under static load and the work of the elastic material in construction, but also taking into account the nonlinearity, both physical and geometrical, as well as vibratory loads. A complex method and software, allowing the designer to provide a convenient form for analysis of the optimal solutions to meet various quality criteria, to determine the parameters of steel orthotropic carriageway slabs of highway bridges subject to the restrictions on the set of design parameters and satisfying regulatory requirements. Easy to prepare input data for the calculation of orthotropic plates based software Femap - Nx Nastran (UGS) and Visual Basic For Application (MS Excel) - VBA and presentation of results in the familiar Excel environment allows the user to analyze the effects of geometric design parameters, and simplifying and accelerating the procedures subsequent optimization design. The method has much in common and, as shown by the example of the evaluation design optimization of the carriageway bridge over the Suez Canal, could be used for the calculation of complex composite orthotropic structures.
