المستخلص There has been an increasing food problems in many countries in recent years. Egypt is not an exception in this respect. Shortage of animal protein in take represents the core of the food problem in Egypt. Therefore, the government is exerting concerted efforts to secure various sources of animal protein. One of the major promising areas seems to be poultry production. Chicken meat has become an important source of protein for various reasons. Despite this importance poultry production has not been paid the due attention. The productivity of this sector is still low. The apparent gap between current productivity and potential productivity can be bridged through well _ organized extension programs. Such programs have to be based on a sound assessment of extension needs of poultry producers as well as setting adequate priorities of these needs. |
