Abstract

Cables are light and have a high strength to weight its lightness provides an expanded impression of space and the smoothly curving cables that create structures with soft outline provide a desirable alternative to the traditional orthogonal building, cable has also proven to be an economical proposition for large structures. The research problem : Several parameters are studied in static and dynamic analyses and the results are showed for some selected joints, members, and column bases. The results of analysis are used to investigate the factors that affect the design and the response of cable suspended roofs. Aim of the study: The main object of this thesis is to investigate the static and dynamic analysis of suspended cable roofs for halls having rectangular shapes due to wind load. The responses of nonlinear analysis are taken into consideration Study procedures: A rectangular cable suspended roof net having a 200 m long, 100 m wide, and 24 m height has been analyzed using a computer program SAP 2000 version 14.0.0. To investigate the static and dynamic responses for convex cable roof. The thesis conclusions : Based on obtain results it can be concluded that increasing the initial tension increases the final tension in cables, natural frequencies and decreases the deflection, The stiffness increases with increasing cable curvature, cable sizes, pretension, and decreases with increasing flexibility of the supporting columns
