Abstract

The aim of this work was to investigate some physiological studies on grapes under different levels of some growth substance such as CCC, 2,4-D, GA3 and CEPA. Morever, The effect of the above mentioned compounds on yield and berries quality was also included.
The results obtained could be summarized as follows :
Part (I) : results on yield and fruit quality :
A- results concerning yield and physical qualities :
1) Gibberellin (GA3) at 50 ppm used at fruit-set as spraying or dipping increased the yield per vine significantly.
2) Cntrary to the effect of GA3. chlormaquat (ccc) at 500 ppm applied 4 weeks after bud burst significantly decreased the yield compared to the control.
3) A somewhat reduction in yield was obtained when 2.4-D at 5 ppm was sprayed 4 weeks after bud burst.
4) Ethephon (CEPA) at 250 ppm at veraison gave no clear effect on yield.
5) Concerning the effect of the various growth regulators applied on cluster weight, ih was noticed that results of different practice used was almost similar to that noticed with yield.
6) In regard to the effect on berry weight and volume, GA3 either used as spraying of dipping significantly increased both berry weight and volume. While ccc significantly decreased the two aspects. Both 2,4-D and CEPA gave a somewhat decrease in this respect.
