Abstract The present thesis is devoted for developing new methods for the analysis of certain compounds containing nitrogen and oxygen in pharmaceutical dosage forms and biological fluids namely: pregabalin, metoprolol tartrate, felodipine, oseltamivir phosphate, pyridoxine hydrochloride and metoclopramide hydrochloride, either in pure form, in pharmaceutical preparations or in human plasma. A spectrofluorimetric method was investigated for determination of pregabalin in pure form and capsules through the reaction with fluorescamine. Moreover, two spectrophotometric methods were developed for determination of pregabalin in pure form and in capsules depending on the aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction with 2,4-naphthaquinone 4-sulfonate and 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene. A synchronous fluorescence spectroscopic method was developed for simultaneous determination of metoprolol tartrate and felodipine in pure form and in their combined tablets. A spectrofluorimetric method was applied for the analysis of oseltamivir phosphate in pure form, pharmaceutical preparations and spiked human plasma via its reaction with o-phthalaldehyde in presence of 2-mercaptoethanol. A high-performance liquid chromatographic method coupled with fluorescence detection was developed for estimation of metoclopramide hydrochloride and pyridoxine hydrochloride in pure form and in their combined syrup. Such method was applied for determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride in spiked human plasma. The validation criteria of the developed methods were intensively studied. All the results were statistically analyzed and compared with those given by the comparison methods. |
