Abstract The current investigation deals with evaluation of two types of bloceramics used in preservation of residual alveolar ridge after multiple extraction of natural teeth. These types of bioceramics are biodegradable tricalcium phosphate and non-degradable bioglass. Twenty patients were selected for this study and were divided into two groups, ten each. For the first group, the mandibular anterior and premolar teeth were extracted and tricalcium phosphate root forms were inserted in fresh sockets. For the second group, the mandibular anterior and premolar teeth were extracted and bioglass root forms were inserted in fresh sockets. For placement of implants, a system of matched socket gauges and implants was developed. After a period of 6 weeks postoperatively dentures were constructed . All patients under study were recalled for clinical and radiographical follow up. |
