Abstract
Twenty extracted single human teeth collected from patients having advanced periodontal disease they were selected from periodontal clinic and oral surgery clinic faculty of Dentistry Tanta University the tesed area on each tooth were the proximal surface 5 m.m or more apical to the CEJ were scaled vigorously and root-planed with hand instruments this were accomplished with sharp curettes using aminimum of 20 strokes in an attempt to remove remaining accretions and achieve a smooth hard glass-like surface.
