Abstract
This study was carried out on 40 children of both sex, their ages ranged from 5 to 12 years and they had normal biochemical screening. They were scheduled for elective surgical procedures. Fasting blood samples were withdrawn for determination of glucose, insulin, catecholamines and cortisol.
