Abstract Two series of experiments were corried out in .the Farm of Faculty of’ Agriculture, Kafr El Sheikh, Tanta University, during the two successive seasons 1987/88 and 1988189 to investigate the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization (in the first part) and the effect of nitrogen fertilization and row spacing (in the second part) on growth, yield and yield components of oil seed rape. Twelve treatments were studied in each part which were the combination between four rates of nitrogen levels i.e. 30,45, 60 and 75 kgN/feddaa and three rates of phosphrous fertilization i.e. 0, 15 and 30 kg P2 05 per feddan (in the first part) and the same four above nitrogen levels and three distance between rows i.e. 20,25 and 30 cm. apart (in the second part). A split plot design with four replicates was used in all experiments the four rates of nitrogen were allocated to the main plots, while the three rates of phosphrous or the three row distances were allocated to the sub plots. Each sub plot contained 10 rows 3.5 m. long and 30 cm. apart (in the first part) and 15, 12, 10 rows for 20. 25, 30 cm (in the second part) and its size was 10.5 m (3x3.5 m.) (i.e. 1/400/ .fcddan). |
