Abstract
This work was carried out cn two l e t t u c e vrrieties (hrk green & &lady) during t!le winter seasons of 1978 L 1979 i n the farm of &culty cf’dgricuiture, Kafer El- SheiKh. Four transplanting dates, (during October, November, Qeoember and January) were included in both seasons. The split-plot design with four replications ms used, varieties were distributed mndonily as main-plot, and the four transplanting dates were randomly distributed as subplot, The plot area was 12.6 m 2 , ktg included vegetative growth as meas~menta-were taken at two weeks intervals s t a r t i n g after f o u r weeks. from transplanting, fresh yield aiid seed production.
