Abstract
Four field experiments were conducted at the Farm of Sakha Research Station during 1976 and 1977 seasons, to study the effect of nitrogen and Zinc levels on growth, yield, yield component and protein content of rice cultivars. Each two experiments included ones of the two rice cultivars, ” IR 579 ‘ and giza I72» The nitrogen levels namly 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg, N/fad. were used in combination with the Zinc levels of 0, 10, 20 and 30 kg, zn/fad. For every cultivar, A split plot design with four replicates WAS used in each experiment. The combined analysis conducted between the two years. The planting date was May 14 in both seasons. The transplanting was done 35 days after sowing.
