Abstract
Cotton is the mas-t important crop in Egypt, The genetic studies are,considered as the first base of improvement for the commercial varieties and production of new lines, The main objective of the present study was to determine heterosis , inbreeding depression, G.CiA~, different types of gene action, heritabilities and gain of selection of eight cotton varieties and their diallel crosses F1 and F2 generations as well as their interaction with the change in environmental conditions, MEASURET~EO~P~ TTF UITS :- 1- Seed cotton yield 2- Lint percentage 3- Boll weight 4- Seed index 5- Number of bolls/plant 6- Days to first flower 7- Fiber strength 8- Fiber fineness
