Abstract The genotoxicity effects of four pesticides, i.e., bailoside, imperator 25,triton X- 100 and rat-killer were evaiuated using different biological systems, i. e. Sacclzaronzyces cerevisiae D7 strain, Schizosacclzaronzyces pombe ad-D2 as microbial tester strains. Both of Alliu~nc epa and Vicia faba root-tips were used as mono- and dicotyledonous plant systems. Using S. cerevisiae D7 strains, the obtained results showed that 114 r.d of bailoside induced significantly converted colonies. Moreover 112 r. d. and r. d. of triton X-100 and rd. of imperator 25 proved to be significantly petits inducer. Meanwhile non of the other pesticides doses induced any of revertants of the to be completely lethal to S. pornbe ad-D, strain down to 1/40 r.d., however its 1/50 r.d. and imperator 25 r.d. treatments induced petite colonies higher significantly tha~l such respective control. Regarding the tested pesticides effects on the regulation of ad-2 gene action, all of bailoside and imperator 25 doses as well as triton X-100 1/100 r.d. acts as xantl~ine oxidase enhancing agents. Oa contrary triton X- 100 1 I50 r .d . suppressed the same enzyme production at S. ponzbe ad-D2 strain. All doses of the tested pesticides proved to be mitotic division depressives with variable levels for both of A. cepa and V. faba root-tips cells. Moreover, several types of cellular and chromosomal abnormalities were scored for both plant sp. such as C-metaphase, bi-and multinucleate cells, big cells, stickiness, chromatin bridges, cell wall digestion, laggards, polyploidy , chromosome elongation with fragmentation. |
