Abstract
The objectives of this investigation were to study the inheritance of sensitivity to l i g h t , expressed as the period from planting t o heading, in the hexaploid spr ing bread wheat -T. aestivum and i t s as sociat ion with y i e l d components md grain quality, B- Six parentdl cultivars, three of which were insensitive (ins. = e a r l y ) , while the other three were sensitive (sen. = l a t e ) t o the photoperiod were used in four crosses : 1- Sakha 3 (ins. ) x NOD. (sen, ). 2- I\JeDe (ins. ) x Klein petiso (sen. ). 3- Era (ins.) x Era (sen.). 4- Era (ins. ) x Qein petiso (sen. ). (2- The gem plasm was supplied by the Wheat Research Section, Egyptiai Ministry of Agriculture, and the experiments were run at the farm of Sakha Agricultural Research Station during the years 1975 to 1978.
