Abstract Thyroid nodulacity is a common disorder occurring in about 4% of the population, while thyroid carcinoma is uncommon. Identification of the malignant tumours among the vast number of nodular thyroid lesions is a difficult problem. The management of thyroid nodular lesions is problematic, the refore , a reliable preoperative screening method is required. Fine - Needle Aspiration Cytology has been used for preoperative diagnosis of abnormalities in the thyroid gland, and the technique is well established recently in this country. |
