Abstract
The purpose of t h e present study is t o f i n d out the s o i l associations nhich are formed unCer d i f f e r e n t depositional e’nvironments , through a south-north tr ansect in Kafr El-Sheikh governor ate. Six represeneative s o i l p r o f i l e s ;::ere chosen, representing the main geodepositional environments in the studied area (flood p l a i n , l a c u s t r i n e , mzine and sand dunes). The morphological description, physic a1,chemi.c a1 and miner alogic a1 analysis were carried out. S o i l genesis and c l a s s i f i c a t i o n of these s o i l s have been discussed.
