Abstract Platelets has been reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of coronary thrombi which is the most common cause of AM1 .Platelets adhere to the damaged vascular surface then they become activated and a platelet aggregates are formed followed by release of granular content of platelets. In AM1 platelets has been characterized as hyperaggregable and hyperactive and the degree of platelet hyperreactivity appears to be a useful marker for future coronary events.Determination of plasma PFq allow to estimate platelet activity in vivo. The aim of this work is to study platelet activity by estimating PF4 in patients at high risk of CAD and patients with AM1 to clarify any possible role of PF4 in the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction. |
