Abstract
The main findings of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. The aim of the work is rlo follow the postnatal development of the mesencephalic nucleus of the trigeminal nerve in the albino rat and to show the changes in the morphology of the nerve cells during different periods after birth. 2. In this work 25 albino rats were used as followe :- 1. Hew born. 2. One week old. 3. lCaro weeks old. 4. Three weeks 016. 5. Adult ( mom than sixty days ) . The rate of the different age groups were laparatomised under ether anaesthesia and than sacrified. The brains were removed and the brain stems were isolated, fixed, dehydrated and blocked in paraffin. Sections were stained using HX. & E. and toludine blue stains.
