Abstract

This investigation was conducted to study the effect of sowing dates, seeding rates and nitrogen fertilization levels on the growth, yield and its components of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Two field experiments were carried out at Gemmeiza agricultural research station, A.R.C. Egypt, during the two successive seasons, 199211993 and 199311994. A split split plot design with four replications was used in both seasons of experimentation with four sowing dates (Nov. 10, Nov. 25, Dec. 10 and Dec. 25) distribution in main plots, three seeding rates (40 , 50 and 60 Kglfed) in sub plots and four nitrogen levels (0,70, 90 and 110 Kg N./fed) in the subsub plots. The obtained results can be summarized under the following topics : A) Growth analysis and growth attributes : In both seasons , the effect of sowing dates on dry matter accumulation was significant and the highest dry matter accumulation was recorded by sowing wheat on Nov. 10 . The effect of seeding rates on dry matter accumulation was significant and the data showed that dry matter accumulation increased by increasing the seeding rate up to 60 kg / Fed in both seasons . The dry matter accumulation was significantly increased by increasing N.levels up to 110 kg Nl Fed at all samples in both seasons .
