Abstract
Sugar beet is considered one of the most important crops grown f o r sugar production all over the world.
It supplies more than 40% of the worldt a sugar . It is considered a new crop f o r Egyptian rotation. The objectives of the present work almed to survey and i d e n t i f y the d i f f e r e n t causal pathogens responeible fos lossee due to seedling b l i g h t s , root cots and poatharvest decay of roots. The obtained r e s u l t s of the present work could be summarized in the followings t Concerning seedling d i s - e a s e s , t h e obtained r e s u l t s bdicated t h a t e i t h e r Rhizoctonia s o l a n i or Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ,betae were found associated w i t h beet damped-off seedlhgs.
