Abstract
3-Amino-1,2,4-triazole (m) r e a c t s with phenyl isocyanate and/or isothiocyanates to yield 3-(3’-phenylcsrbarnid0)- 1,2,4-triazole and 3-(3’-eth~l(~henyl)-thiacarbamido) -1,2,4-triazole (LXXXVIa-c)respectively, which on reaction w i t h cbloroacetic acid i n the presence of fused sodium acetate and glacial a c e t i c acid afford 3- 1,2,4-criazolc (LXXXVIIa-c) , respectively, Hx H ’The react ion of compound XW with benzaldehyde i n the presence of fused sodiurn a c e t a t e and g l a c i a l a c e t i c acid yields 3-Senzyldieneamine-l,2,4-t.riaz01e (LXXXVIII).
