Abstract
The presen t invest. and i d e n t i f y t h e major crop in K a f r El-Sheikh. igation was carrled out t o isolate fungal pathogens of sugar beet Governorate , and also to study the e f f e c t of different fungicides on the incidence of the major fungi causing powdery mildew, Alternaria leaf spot and wilting of sugar beet plants Ln the f i e l d . I. -I s o l a t i o n- and i d e n t i f i c a t i o n : I s o l a t i o n t r i a l s were performed from sugar beet s e e d l i n g s , r o o t s a3l eaves. -Fusarium o xyspom, Fusarium-e ~Lseti,F usarium ~ambucinunv ar. coemleum, Z’usariun -semi tectum, Ibizocto.nia solani, -Jhc-or r acemosus, Cunninghamella sp. , sternaria alternata , Aspergillu-s sp., and Ce~cospora beticola , were i s o l a t e d from sugar beet plants. 11. Pathogenicity studies : This experiment was c a r r i e d out to study the effect of a r t i f i c i a l infection with t h e d i f f e r e n t isolated fungi ox some cultivars of sugar beet (Trinova, laribo auto poly, Eonike, Jasika, Cawrnira arid Cawywi) .
