Abstract
Rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease still form a great challenge to the health of children and youth in Egypt(Abdin and Eissa (1966) Severe cases with heart failure and multiple valvular lesions are still frequent especially in the Delta region (Abdin and Eissa (1979).Rheumatic fever occurs more frequently in younger children,where severe carditis is often the role The disease often runs in a malignant course, and advanced rheumatic heart disease is found in children less than 10 years of age.
