Abstract
Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum a n t i b i o t i c t h a t is e f f e c t i v e against a wide range of grarppositive and gram-negat ive b a c t e r i a l , chlamydial, r i c k e t t sial and mycoplasmal infections. It reaches the blood in adequate concentrations a f t e r o r a l and parentral administrations, So, it has been e f f e c t i v e l y used in many infections i n the body. The blood-ocular b a r r i e r s r e s i s t the passage of d i f f e r e n t drugs, accordingly, the adequate blood l e v e l of a drug doesn’t grant adequate concentrations of t h i s drug i n ocular t i s s u e s and f l u i d s .
