Abstract Soybean is one of the most important leguminous crops. Seeds of soybean have high nutritive value and their proteins contain many essential amino acids. The protein content of soybean seeds m y range from 30 to 5w and the o i l content from 15 to 25%. In Egypt, soybean considered a new crop u n t i l now only 98,000 feddans are cultivated in 1979. This crop is very sensitive to many factors, among which are the levels of salts i n soils and the response t o inoculation with soybean nodule bacteria. -R. ,-japonicum is not present natural ly i n Egyptian s o i l s as soybean is not a native plant in the country* Nitrogen fertilizer m2y interfere with inoculation response of soybean plants. |
