Abstract Two experiments were carried out at the Farm of The Faculty of Agriculture at Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta University, Egypt during two successive seasons 1988 and 1989 to investigate the effect of plant spacing and planting methods on one ridge or two ridges on soybean growth yield and its components. Twenty four treatments which were the combination between four plant spacing i.e. 2.5, 5, 10 and 15 cm, two planting methods i.e. on one or two ridges and three soybean cultivars: Clark, Williams and Crawford were applied in each season. A split split plot design with four replicates was used. The three varieties were randomly allocated to the main plots, planting space to the sub. plots and the planting on one or two ridges to the sub-sub plots. Each sub-sub plot contained three rows, 4 m long and 60 cm apart. A growth analysis determination were studied on three growth successive stages i. e. 57, 72 and 87 days from planting in the two seasons. |
