Abstract The objectives of this study were : (1) to study the development of resistance in laboratory population of Egyptian cot ton leafworm, Spodopte.ra littoralis (Boisd, ) against curacron, cyolane , and RUP 962 and cross-resistance between different strains. (2) toLs tudy the res i s tance character linked with sex. ( 3 ) to. teat study the inheritance of insecticide resistances in Spodoptem l i t t o r a l i s (Boisd, ) , f o r example ,dominance and recessive, and the character back t o monofactorial o r polyfactorial inheritance, The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1- Res5stant strains from SDodoptera littoralis were developed in the laboratory tuough subjectjllg random samples of a f i e l d s t r a i n (Kafr ~l-Sheikh) for several succesaive generatipns t o three different insecticides used. The levels of resistance were 34.3 (F8), 20 (FlO), and 100 fold f o r curacron, cyolane , and RUP 962 respectively. 2- The selected strains for curacron and cyolane showed no cross-resistance toward RUP 962. selected s t r a i n to cyolagq showed cross-resutance toward curacron but not for RUP 962, and selected strain for curacron showed cross-resistance f o r cyolane and not Tor WP 962, |
