Abstract Human toxoplasmosis is an infectious. disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii. The protozoan Toxoplasma gondii is found throughout the world. Toxoplasmosis in the adult is usually asymptomatic but in 10 to 20 % of cases symptoms may appear. The most common clinical manifestations of toxoplasmosis is lymphadenopathy involving single or multiple nodes. The skin manifestations of toxoplasmosis are rare and non specific. Some authors said that the eruption is not due to the infective agent itself but it may be due to autoimmune aggression. On the other hand, some skin disorders were suspected to be associated with toxoplasmosis as in the lesions Toxoplasma gondii was found, the toxoplasmin skin test was positive or the anti- toxoplasmic treatment cured the lesions. |
