Abstract Progesterone therapy in a dose of 100 mg I.M./daily has the following end results: - It has a hypotenisve effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, through its diuretic and natriuretic effects. 2) Lower dose is ineffective. 3) A dded progesterone to bed rest treatment it may be a clue for ameliorating mild P IH . 4 Progesterone therapy in the formula used in this study is equal in effect to the prevous work using 17 a hydroxy progesterone caproate . Further need for long number of series and longer follow up after delivery would be essential in order to establish the progesterone as a hypotensive, diuretic and a relatively harmless line of treatment for preeclamptic patients. |
