Abstract

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is an acute disease caused by the long-term deposit of blood lipid in coronary arteries, leading to atherosclerosis and necrosis of heart tissue. Many factors, such as smoking, obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hereditary predisposition, have been implicated in the etiology of the disease.CAD symptoms and signs arise as a result of or as a consequence of transient or permanent reduction of blood flow to the myocardium. The blood flow property is one of the factors that determine blood perfusion and oxygen supply.Hemorheology is the study of the flow of blood and its relation to the vessels in which it is contained. The flow properties of blood in microcirculation and or macrocirculation are affected by many factors such as red cell rheology, white cell rheology, plasma viscosity and whole blood viscosity. The viscosity of blood is primarily related to the hematocrit, but also to the amount of fibrinogen and other macromolecules present in the blood
