Abstract Hysterography uterus and uterine f s the radiographic examination of the tubes following injection of contrast medium, it is one of the moat valuble applications of roentgenology to the field of obstetric and gynaecology. This procedure of value in Identification of varioua abnormalities in the female genitalia and the determfnation of the degree of tubal patency in casea of s t e r i l i t y . Hysterosalpingography, at f i r s t used only in the study of tubal patency and function in sterility, is now regarded as a basic Investigation in the diagnosis of female genital diseases, for it reveals the s i t e , posit ion, morphology, ei~aen d configuration of the uter ine cavi ty and tubes. In addit.ion to thia decisive importance in diagnositr hysterosalpingography ie also valuble in planning aurgical correction in many cases, with the increasing popularity of surgery f o r i n f e r t i l i t y and improved microsurgical techniques, eipecially in tubal surgery, hyst erosalpingography is now commonly performed in post operative patients. |
