Abstract Rejection, is the most common cause of declining allograft function. This work aimed to examine a group of patients who had renal allograft transplantation, and presented with clinical suspicion of rejection, by radionuclide imaging.Isotopic imaging of various types of rejection. were exhibited and, evaluated against clinical, as well as other imaging modalities; as sonography aid radiology. This thesis included 30 cases of renal transplant recipients(18 males and 12 females) with age ranging between 6-53 years. They presented with clinical and laboratory findings suspected rejection. Another 10 renal transplant recipients with already known normal clinical and laboratory findings were also examined and considered as a control group.Radionuclide examinations were done for all cases with a gamma camera, and computer system. The studies comprised the generation of blood flow images, and curves, and calculation of perfusion indices. Visual interpretation of the analogue images was correlated with the computer generated data. |
