Abstract
Hlstamlne is widely distributed throughout the animal Kingdom, and is present In many venoms, bacteria, and plants . Almost all mammalian tissues contain hlstamlne in amount ranging from less than one to more than 100 ng/g. Concentration in plasma and other body fluids are generally very low. but human cerebrosplnal fluid contain significant amount . The mast cell Is the predominant storage site for hlstamlne in tissues. Thus the concentration of hlstamine is particularly high In tissue that contain large numbers of mast cells, such as skin, the mucosa of the bronchial tree, and the Intestinal mucosa.
