Abstract Schistosomiasis is considered as one of the most important health problems in Egypt as it affects the physical and mental development of children as well as the production power of adults.Histochemical and cytochemical studies have been proved to play irnportant role in the diagnosis and prognosis of many diseases.The present work was designed to study the changes of neutrophil alkaline phosphatase and myeloperoxidase activities in peripheral blood and bone marrow neutrophils in schistosomal patients.This study was carried out on tliefollowing groups :-1) Control group : Consisted of 10 healthy persons as reference group.2) 10 patients with early schistosomiasis 3) 10 patients with schistosomal hepatosplenomegaly without ascites.4) 10 patients with schistosomal ascites.5) 10 patients with schistosomal hypersplenism. 6) 10 patients with hepatic cirrhosis.Besides the careful history taking, complete clinical examination and rotine. |
