Abstract
The main objective of this work was to make a correlative study between nentilation / perfusion disturbance and arterial hypoxemio in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis . The material was ten patients wichh have been subjected to clinical , radiologica l , ECG, respiratory functions, blood gases inarterial blood ; and regional lung functions as assessed by the use of radioactive Xe 133 - Spirometry showed contracted lung volumes of a mean vital capacity 1.435 liters corresponding to 49.4 % of predicted. - The tidal volume was of mean value of 354 ml.
