Abstract

The present work represents study of the spectra of Antimony, Rhodium, Tellurium and Silver with s&cial attention given to the spectra of Zinc and Palladium. In the last decade spectra of multiply ionized atoms in the 3d - as well in the 4d - shell have been studied at the Zeenan Laboratory. A review of the analyses of the involved spectra - in order of increasing nuclear charge (Z) and in order of increasing ionization stage of each ion - is given below: . y - spectra Z = 26: Fe V (I), Fe Vl (I), Z = 27: CO 111 (2), Co 1V (3, 4), CO V (5), CO Vl. (61, = 28: Ni 111 (7), Ni 1V (8), Ni v (3, 9, lo), N i VI (11), ~i n1 (12), z = 29: Cu 1’1 (13, 14), kr V (15, 16). Cu V1 (3, 15, 17). Cu Vl1 (18), Z = 30: zn lv (191, zn V (20, 21), Zn Vl (22), Z = 31: Ga 1V (23), Z = 32: Ge V (23), Ge V1 (24), Z = 33 : As Vl (25), A s Vl1 (25, 26), As Vlll (27), Z = 34: Se Kl (281, se V11 (29 ,30), se Vlll (29, 30, 31) Se 1X (32), Z = 35: Br Vlll (33), Br 1x (3% Br x (35)- Sb V11 (47, 59, 62, 63), Sb Vlll (63), Z = 52: Te Vl1 (59, 60, 61, &), Te V l l l In the 36 - spactrs mainly the three lowest configurations 36”. 3in-’4s ’A aad 3dn%P, (n= 8, 7, 6, 5) have been studied and in the ild- spectrs minly the @ , 4dn - 1 5 8, 4dn-15p and 4dn-ly (n= lo, 9, 8) configurations. The f i r s t element of which we took exposures was Zn, since (in 38) Zn V1 (n = 7) and Zn V11 (n = 6) are the only two spectra which were unknown in the isoelectronic sequences from Co 111 - Cu V and Co Vl - Cu V1 respectively. We used a sliding spark lightsource (see chapter 2.6).
