Abstract In recent years an increased attention has been directed to the biological and technical applications of molecular compounds of Schiff bases and related compounds. Although numerous studies were concerned with the charge transfer complexes of aromatic amines, aromatic hydrocarbons with condensed ring systems or heterocyclic compounds yet little attention has been made to the CT complexes of heterocyclic Schiff bases. The present work is concerned with a detailed study of heterocyclic Schiff bases derived from 4-amino antipyrine and 3-amino-1,2,4-Triazole with substituted aromatic aldehydes. To elucidate the structures of the Ychiff bases used as donor molecules various spectroscopic techniques e.g. infrared, ultraviolet , visible and nuclear magnetic resonance have been used The main subject of the p+esent study lies in the preparation and characterization of the charge transfer complexes of the Schiff bases under investigation with some acceptors such as dinitro-, trinltrohenzene and chloro substituted p-benzoquinones . The prepared compounds were then subjected to spectral analyse in order to throw more light on the different bonding modes. |
