Abstract The study of the mechanical stress- relaxation h~dbe en c a r r i e d out i n p o l y c r y s t a l l i n e copper and alumini,~m etal s of commercial purity(95.5 %) and d i f f e r e n t packing Pmlt energy 5 = 40 erg/cm 2 for ffcufl~ nd2( = 200 ery,/cm2 f o r AT,) The optimum conditions were found by using the data of stress-relaxation methode to determine the s t r e s s - s t a t e , plnstic flow and the c h a r a c t r i s t i c of d i s l o - c a t i o n s t r u c t u r e i n these metals. The thermoactivated yrarneters of stress-relaxation process i n the temperature range 300-500 K and s t r a i n r n t e s from 0.05 - 500 mm/ min, have been obtained to get information about the nature of b a r r i e r s and the mechanism of d i s l o c a t i o n s movements. Tbn n)Iysical quantites obtained ’from the experimental data are: (1) The c o e f f i c i e n t of the work h~rdening ttKft: The c o e f f i c i e n t of the work hardening which r e s u l t i n g from ln-ln represent8,tion of the s t r e s s s t r a i n curves was found to increase l i n e a r l y with increasin~ s t r a i n mte at constant temperature and decreased l i n e a r l y with temperature a t constant s t r a i n r a t e . |
