Abstract Both of heron (Ardeola ibis ibis ) sexes were examined f o r the digenetic trematode parasite Renicola ardeolae (Khalifa & El - Naff ar, 1975 ) that inhabits their kidneys in cysts, each one contains two worms. Investigations on certain blood parameters including both of it a components or some metabolic product were made in the infected and non-infected birds f o r statistical comparison. These selected parameters are those which was routenly taken for studying kidney functions in mammals . The validity of these parameters to measure the kidney function of birds was discussed |
