Abstract The new merocyanine (M-NH2) which possess the chromophoric structure of merocyanine dye but with different side chain (-iu’H2j was prepared for this study, The difference is reflected in their spectral bahaviour in homogeneous solution of different organic solvents, pH. Also it is reflected from the spectral behaviour in heterogeneous solution such as ’micellar solution, inverted micelles, and condensed phase like cyclodextrin cavities This thesis comprised four chapters In the first chapter: The introduction includes the importance of the solvent effect on the spectroscopic properties of organic molecules, the solvatochromism of some betaine compounds and importance of merocyanine dyes as the subject of many reported studies, as well as their utility as a probe for the solvent effect on the rate of the thermal cis/trans isomerization. Also this chapter includes the effect of heterogeneous media like micellar solution and inverted 1’ micelles, in addation in condensed phase like cyclodextrin on the photophysical and photochemical properties of organic molecules. Finally the chapter includes litrature survey for the freezing point depression. |
