Abstract Pretreatment of fabrics and jet inks are the key factors to the whole process of ink jet printing which is decreased to be a revolutionary steps in textile printing technology. (43) The modified pretreatment bath suggested, by the researcher, to be used instead of the traditional one has the following recipe: 50 g/1 sod. Alginate (4%) 20 g/1 ethylene glycol -------- 1000 ml Padding (Approx. 60 % pick up) and drying Regarding fastness properties of printed polyester samples pretreated by the modified method the obtained results revealed the presence of good improvement in fastness to light and to a lesser extant to rubbing and perspiration. As for ink, the obtained results proved that the prepared ink process the same rheological criteria as the original one ( viscosity, surface tension, pH), in addition to being highly pure (no nozzle clogging). Finally, the new formulation ink was prepared at a low cost price with opens the door wide in front of Egyption incorporations to commercial produce it.. |
