Abstract
The main objective of this work is to develop a general-purpose microcontroller module to control many functions in modern electronic systems. As a case study the TV receiver circuits have been taken into consideration. In order to control the different functions of electronic systems using microcontroller, it is essential to study in detail the circuits of those systems and the microcontroller architecture to determine those functions and how to design suitable controls. (hardware and software) for those functions.
So the following procedure is proposed in order to achieve objectives of this work. Firstly, scan and review different uses of microcontroller in electronic circuits field. Secondly, studying a modern TV circuits to determine the ability to control its circuits. Thirdly, study in details all circuits attached to its microcontroller. This study includes the definition of all input and output signals needed to operate these circuits correctly. Finally, suggest a development for using microcontroller to make the operation of TV sets easier with low cost and high reliability.
The final design card can be used in many electronic control systems such as, temperature control, treasurer level control and the different types of warning control circuits as precautionary measure to prevent any losses or damages. All these different applications can be implemented without changing the programming of the controller or in the output interface circuits of microcontroller. The only change that can be done, in the input interface circuits of microcontroller, is to replace the specific input key by a sensor that is related to the controlled function.
