Abstract

This study was performed in the obstetric department of Mansour unversity Hospital to investigate the different methods of assessment of fetal 11-being (biophysical profile scoring, doppler flow velocity waveforms, urn estriol and human placenta! lactogen). The evaluation and clarification he doppler flow velocity waveforms (umbilical artery, arcuate branch of the rine artery and fetal aorta) as a test of fetal well-being incases of severe gnancy induced hypertension, and the effect of treatment regimens on the velocity waveforms is our major goal. This study included 64 patients all having severe pregnancy induced ertension. All cases were submitted to accurate history taking, systematic general I abdominal examinations and a special investigations which include: (1) Urine analysis (for proteinuria). (2) Serum creatinine and serum uric acid. (3) Maternal serum human placenta! lactogen and estriol. (4) Biophysical profile scoring and routine obstetric uttrasonography (5) Doppler flow velocity waveforms examinations of the umbilical artery, arcuate branch of the uterine blood vessels and fetal aorta.
