Abstract 1. Results of different treatments are comparable 2. Both radiologic and laparoscopic occlusion techniques are potential treatment options in the treatment of fibroids. However, both techniques are associated with a high level of skill, and consequently, they should be selected to special centers with interest in this field.3. Both LBUAC and UAE led to satisfactory symptomatic improvement & reduction in myoma volume.4. Both LBUAC and UAE are associated with a low rate of complications and rapid complete recovery of patients.5. Both BUAC and UAE for the management of myoma, are less invasive procedures that preserve the uterus and possibly maintains future reproductive capacity.6. Data concerning future fertility following both LBUAC and UAE are still lacking, and thus they should only be employed in patients who don’t desire further pregnancy.7. Morbidity & mortality after LBUAC & UAE must be compared with surgical treatment since no new treatment should be introduced that is less safe than the effective acceptable treatment which is myomectomy.8. Advantage of LBUAC is to avoid un-necessary x-ray exposure & its disadvantages include the risk of general anesthesia and the risk of laparoscopic surgery. |
